The Center for Radio Information was co-founded in 1977 by Scott E. Webster and his father, Maurie Webster, a veteran in the radio industry.

Maurie Webster grew with the radio industry. More than 60 years ago, he had started his career as an announcer and graduated to KNX Sales Manager, KCBS Station Manager and CBS Vice President for 17 years. As Vice President, he was in charge of everything from Radio Spot Sales to Engineering to Research and Publicity.

Like his father, Scott Webster also was a pioneer in a "new" industry, computers. Scott started as a tab operator at Litton Industries, graduated to programmer and moved on to the Bank of California, DN&E Walter & Company, and CBS. At CBS, Scott was a systems analyst in the Corporate Group, the CBS Television Network and CBS Records. At Records, he single-handedly was the total computer support for the Finance Department. After 20 years at CBS, Scott joined his father in their co-venture, CRI.

The combined talents and experience of Maurie and Scott are what made CRI the successful and enduring company that it is today.

After Mauries's untimely death in 2001, Scott continued on as President and has taken the company into the Internet Age. Scott is revamping his systems to be online accessible via the Internet. He is also using his powerful systems, his love of data and his knowledge of the radio industry to take the company into the area of radio syndication.

In 1997, Scott founded a second company, WebstersWebsites with its premier travel destination and community website, the Hudson Valley Gateway. HVGateway is undoubtedly one of the most detailed websites of its kind with over 600 webpages and 1500 photographs. HVGateway has also been the official website for the local Chamber of Commerce. Since, his venture into the the website business, Scott has designed a number of websites for a variety of businesses including real estate, antiques, an animal shelter and a Rotary club.

Scott and his wife, Jean, live and work in the historic village of Cold Spring-on-Hudson, NY, an area known for its unique geography and for its history. An active member of the community, Scott has been a board member of the local Chamber of Commerce and a founding member of the local Rotary chapter. He has received distinguished service awards both from the County and the Chamber for his service and dedication to his community.
